I have a 1985 Mercury inline 6 115hp engine and am trying to figure out what prop is on it.I found a number stamped on the front hub 90165F followed by a gap and another number 84142 with one number in front of the 8 that I cannot make out.Anyone have a clue what it is? I also found a number on the outside between the blades that looked like 1oo3,does that make any sense

Re: Propeller

Thanks for the reply,I didn't see any numbers on their website that matches up so I sent them an email.I would like to put a stainless on it but need to know what I have first.I am also looking to up the rpm's by about 500,engine turns 5000 now would like to get it up to 5500 without dropping down to a lower pitch......

Re: Propeller

They were not much help with the prop, they recommended sending the prop to a repair shop to figure out the pitch of the prop.I guees I will find a boat sales place who usually have used props around that maybe I can compare one with the one I have and figure it out that way......

Re: Propeller

Mr. Wick

In Florida, there has to be a million prop shops around. Try them first before you go to a dealer. A prop shop will know what you need and most likely, will let you try before you buy. A dealer will just sell you the prop and that's it!

Mr Wick,
If you want a like 4 like prop for ur OB then the prop info (Dia & Pitch) should be on the rear face of the prop hub,
Mark

Re: Propeller

The only thing I know about this prop is that it appears to be 13" diameter and that was measuring it with a ruler. No markings on the rear of the hub at all just the numbers of the front of the hub as stated in the first post.I don't even know who makes this prop.I guess it isn't a merc prop as the ones I have seen have a part number stamped on the hub.It is a stainless through the hub exhaust but thats about all I can figure out.How does a person find a prop shop as compared to a boat dealer?

Re: Propeller

Yellow pages under "Propeller". Or under boat parts, propeller repair.
