Propane BBQ Grill Repair question

I have an all stainless steel Ducane (Was made by Weber, discontinued) 3 burner BBQ grill. I like the all stainless look (even the sides are stainless). I have replaced all the parts practically; still doesn’t work. The last part to replace is the manifold (where the burners attach to and the gas valve stem) but I can’t find the manifold anywhere. Does anyone know if I can retro fit a different manifold? Ive already spent money on burners and other parts and a new, all stainless grill from Weber is close to $2,000. Thanks all…

Can use any manifold so long as it fits and is similar BTU. Wouldn't want to use one higher BTU then designed but doing a little less wouldn't hurt.

propane or natural gas?

Did you replace the valve assemblies?

sometimes the orifice gets plugged with debris and dirt. some are removable.

If the manifold is correctly identified, all it consists of is a tube and the orifices. You should be able to disconnect it from the burners and the gas connection and examine and clean it if necessary.....soft wire through the orifices, or pressure solvent such as carb cleaner and air.

Does it do ANYTHING like try and light with a match? Can you hear gas flowing? There is normally not much there.......tank/ hose/ regulator, a control valve or two. Most BBQ's I have don't even have any sort of flame safety

Yeah, those tubes get spider debris in them, cleaning is all they need most of the time. Regulators seldom go bad, I've seen maybe two over the years go south but they were over 30 years old.

Thanks all. I have removed all the valve assemblies and cleaned them. The problem is I hear gas flowing very well, but it doesn’t light more than one burner. Once one turns on, the first one shuts off. I will try to clean them all up again.

Did this problem start with a new tank of gas?

Had a Weber grill act like this right out of the box. Received a free tank of gas with the purchase of a new grill. The salesman warned me of problems related to their current gas supplier. Thought nothing of it.

Long story short, numerous calls to Weber tech support turned up nothing. It wasn’t until I changed tanks the problem went away.
Turns out to be a “safety” feature of the regulator. The article below addresses the “feature”
