HI GUYS, IWAS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAD A PROP CONFIGURATION OR IDEA WHAT WORKS BEST WITH3.0 LX 135-40hp I/O BRAVO I OD, PUSHING A 24' RIENELL. tHIS BOAT IS FAIRLY HEAVY BUT I GOT LOT OF RPMS AND ABOUT 20-25 MPH AT 5K RPM 1:98 RATIO ON OD. THE MERC IS NEW I BUILT IT LAST YEAR along with the OD. MOTOR HAS PLENTY OF POWER TO SPARE. I HAVEN'T GOT A CLUE ABOUT THE PROP TYPE OR PITCH WOULD BE NICE IF SOMEONE HAD A IDEA iCOULD TRY. THE DEALER SAYS IT'S THE RIGHT PROP BUT IT CAN'T BE. the lower ratio is good in the Cook Inlet waters of AK. for power but I  could pull a tug.

Re: PROP

Not sure with the info given, but it looks like a 16" X 14" would be close on a heavy boat. What are you running now??

Re: PROP

What are your RPM's right now at full throttle? You could try a 15-1/4 X 15" prop that will give you about another 200-300 RPM's and possibly some extra speed. But you are real close if 5K is yout top RPM right now.

Re: PROP

I think Merc. still makes the 16X16 round ear prop.....
That Might also get you a little lower RPMs....
You want to get your WOT down to 4400/4600RPMs......
