I am new user of a power trim. I took the boat out and tore the prop up. I was wondering if triming up the motor to high would cause it to distruct? (it ventalated a time or two) I honestly do not think I hit anything solid. The motor is a 90 hp merc.

Re: prop

Not that I am aware of. I just got the boat, the prop looked ok. But I don't know if it was a repaired prop or not.

Re: prop

it is possible that you cavatated the prop and it is possible to get some extreme burns that could waste a aluimium prop but it would have been more than a little abuse to cause this......this is one advantage of S/S over aluimuim.

Yea, I have never seen a prop destruct from one trip, unless it hit something or was defective in some way.

Even overtrimming should not hurt the prop.

Re: prop

Well I thank you much for the info. I must have hit something I sure did not feel or hear anything.
