I'm looking for better hole shot for wakeboarding/watersports. I'm not interested in a higher top speed. My current aluminum prop (that came with the boat) sucks! The boat lags, has little power, and takes a long time to plane when there is 4 or 5 people in the boat. I can feel the boat has enough power when I get on plane. But hole shot sucks.

I want to upgrade to a stainless prop. What brand is good? Anyone have any suggestions on the pitch? Should I stay at 19 or go lower maybe 17 to get a better hole shot?

Re: prop upgrade help

You do have enough power with that 21' to get up pretty fast, and yes the aluminum prop is your primary issue. Without doing a lot of leg work, I would think the 19" should be enough pitch with a SS to cause higher rpm at WOT. Since you are looking for watersport action, you may want to consider a SS 4-blade with the 19" pitch.

Hole shot will improve and you should find manouvering to be a little easier as well. Just watch the RPM at WOT :)

Good luck!

Ditto the 4 blade. I 've got the same 5.0 on a 21' Chaparral and the 4bld. made all the difference in the world.
