Hi guys ,
1st post on here and I looked for it but couldnt really find any info on this ..
have done work on engine before but never needed to head south so to speak .. anyways at the moment its like somthing has gone in the lower unit .. seems like gears arent engaging and the engine is free reving ...

so one of the lads sugguested I take the gears from the prop hosuing out and check to see if any have been damaged ..

anyways if you look at the attached the 12 is the prop housing .. HOW can I remove this it is fairly stuck .. is it threaded or any ideas of how to get this off !

ENGINE : 50 hp D2 2 stroke , short shaft

Thanks

Re: prop shaft housing

Nothing special, no threads. Just the 2 bolts near the prop, and the large o-ring. Corrosion may be causing you a problem. Wedges under the ears (where the bolts attach) can help. If you are too aggressive, you can snap an ear off.
