Can anyone help with prop sizing for a 1988 2.3L sohc 120hp Volvo Penta in a 20ft. Bayliner capri. I'm not sure of the manufacturers WOT rpm rating but the tach tops out at about 4600-4800. Don't need fancy just a good all around replacement. I'm not sure what's on the boat now. Also would anyone know a link to where I could find engine specs on this model. Thanks, and any help is much appreciated.

Hang out and someone else can provide you with motor info. For the prop question, you need to post what WOT you are getting now, what prop you currently have, and what you are trying to accomplish with the new one, for example: better hole shot or more top speed. I would also ask this question in the prop forum or ask a mod to move it there for you. These guys are good at motors, the guys over there are good at prop setup!

First thing we need to know is what model you have. Volvo didn't go by L desigations back then. They had an AQ-XXX-X number that would be handy. While you may have an AQ120, that doesn't mean it's 120 hp.
Like vipzach says, we need your WOT (Wide Open Throtte) rpm that you are now getting and the size of the prop you now have. It's a trial and error type setup. If you have it overpropped, they you are hurting your engine.

are you sure its a volvo and not an OMC cobra with the 2300 CC ford motor?
bayliners used a lot of them in that era. thats why we always like model and drive model identification.

sgd,
I bet you have a 2.3L omc in that 88 Bayliner. I have the same motor, and 5200-5600 rpms is the wot range. If you confirm you have the ford engine I think a 13 3/4 X 15 will be close with a 19' boat.
