prop replacement

i damaged my prop this weekend, and am trying to replace it. the boat is a 77 sea ray 240 sdb. the outdrive is a 255 trs mercruiser, the prop is stamped 1940t 19.

It measures about 18.25d x19p, and i can find that size propeller, but they all say they fir bravo II, alpha I etc. my outdrive doesn't seem to jive up with my prop.

so, my question is: are the mercruiser outdrives all the same at the hub? do i have an alpha or bravo drive? i dont want to make my costly mistake worse by buying an expensive paperweight.

i can take pics if need be.

TRS and Alpha ! and Bravo One are all the same from a prop standpoint.

You can run anything that'll fit an alpha.

as it turns out i believe the outdrive is a tr2, not a trs. it is a 19 spline and 18.25d x 19p. i need to figure out if it has serial numbers or what.

I don't believe Mercruiser's ever came with a 19 spline drive. Sounds like a Volvo/Penta Cobra or SX unit.
