I need to remove the prop to check for a possible obstruction in the exaust.
2005 25 hp Merc 2stroke. I've been reading some posts here about it but I didn't see a cotter pin. What I see is a large nut ontop of a larger nut and it seems to be a single piece. When loosening this nut, should the engine be in gear or in neutral with something to prevent the prop from turning? And finally - is it righty tighty lefty loosey?
