once again I am a new boat owner, HaVE 79 MERCURY, 90hp, I have a stainless steel prop on it now, it is pretty dinged up and rough around the edges, not sure what size is on there now, it is a three blade prop. Wondering what difference is there from three blade to four blade, alum and steel, right now I am doing 35mph at 4500 rpm's, is that too many rpm's for the motor??? and am I going to expect to go faster with a new prop?? new boater guestions

Re: prop question

Hi, Hawk.

Your question really belongs on the Outboard Forum.

4500 Is not enough rpm for top end. You should be able to go to 5000-5500.

Ask about pitch and optimizing props on the Outboard Engines Forum.

Good luck. :)
