Prop protectors - who uses them?

I need a prop protector for my 15 hp Honda which I run on a river with lots of cobbles and boulders. Anybody use them or have any suggestions? I've seen the Rock Hopper from Cabelas and it looks like the best one to me. Since I have a small boat and motor I am somewhat concerned about performance loss, but not so much that I want to buy several props a season. Please let me know what you guys think. Thank you!

Tom

They are pretty common around here on the American river on the drift boats. Seem to be ok. I've seen them in both the type that looks like a pitch fork just running under the prop itself and the full surround.

I have seen them advertised, bu down here in FLorid It is pretty much sand bottom, I havent seen one in use but have heard no negative comments either. If I boated in a area like you describe it may be well woth the price vs a new lower unit~
Good Luck hope someone that has used the product will reply.

Thank you for the advice, fellas. I sure appreciate it. I also wanted to shamelessly bump this to the top. Anyone else?

Tom

They are used a lot on LOTW. Mac's River Runner (Cabelas) works very well but makes a little drag. The Skeggard also works well and makes no drag.

Good Luck.
JB
