I have a 1967 Johnson 9.5 motor. When I reach maybe less than half throttle the motor seems to free spin.A llittle above idle is OK. The shear pin is OK. Do I need new prop? thanks in advance? Jim

Re: prop problems

Some of those props also have a rubber hub in them that can spin. I don't know why they made them with a shear pin and a rubber hub. Sounds like the hub is slipping. I would take it to your local prop shop.

Re: prop problems

would this be a 15" motor on a 20" transom? I use my 15" motor on my 20" transom as a kicker and it does the same thing over 1/2 throttle, too much turbulance.
