How can I determine what the pitch of my props are - I have 2 x 60hp Yamaha motors (prior 2000). I cannot find any markings on the props to tell me.

Re: Prop Pitch

Remove the prop nut. The prop diameter and pitch or the prop manufacturers part number is sometimes cast or stamped into the hub of the prop and the washer covers it up. If there are no marking on the hub or barrel of the prop, the only way to tell what you have is to measure the diameter. On a three blade prop measure from the tip of one blade to the exact center of the prop shaft and x2. On a four blade measure tip-to-tip across opposite blades. You cannot measure pitch so you need to visit a prop shop where they would use a pitch block to determine what you have.
