i got a 1959 fastwin. i think i got the right size shear pin now i think. it is a #17 wich is a 3/16 x 1 25/64 but now the prop nut wont go on. it wont go on far enough bout half a hole off for the cotter pin wont go in. so was wondering if there was a right size castle nut or part number for this?

Re: prop nut

If you have the original propeller on that motor, that is the wrong drive pin. The correct one is part number 203663, which is 3/16" x 1-3/16".

However if you have a replacement propeller, newer than 1960, the correct drive pin is part number 307949, which is 3/16" x 1-3/8".

Remove your prop and lay the drive pin in the slot. If it doesn't lay all the way down in there, you have found the problem.

There are no metric threads anywhere on that motor except the spark plugs, which are 14MM.

it does lay all the way down "in there" it is just right fits all the way across the groove some where along the line some one must have used the wrong castle nut and wont go on far enough to get the cotter pin in like the nut is to tall unless the grove where the shear pin sits is tappered down as it goes to the shaft
