what are the symptoms of a bad Prop hub and How much is the fix for it - by a shop

it is the final link that puts power to the prop. if bad you can rev engine in water and it will seem as if it is in nuetral. at low idle speeds it might seem as if it is working. never had one fixed, just got another prop. cheaper to do that here. nearest prop shop is 80 miles away. by the time i drive a total of 320 miles it is cheaper to get another one.

Thanks Guys<br /><br />I HOPE THAT IS THE PROBLEM<br /><br />I have had so many with this engine ( bought it new in 2000 and have put at least 2000.00 into it including the scheduled maintainance i.e tune ups and lube and oil changes ) and Johnosn just keeps saying - OH WELL when something goes wrong - never gave me the option of purchasing an extended warranty --
