Motor is Johnson 2000 50 hp. Currently has 12 1/2 x 13 prop, but sounds like RPMs are too high. After I install tach, is it as easy as running at WOT and seeing what my RPMs are?. My manual does not list the prop sizes i can use (like my 1975 manual did) Any one what my options are?

Johnson 200 hp 1976 current prop 141/4- 21 Aluminum 22 ft Starcraft top speed right at 49-50 mph will slow to 5mph. I see 4 blade props is there any reason to try one Engine very smooth and wot right at 49 55k rpm Present prop is a 3 blade

You should start your own post.A 4 blade may improve low to medium performance
with a slight reduction of top end.It all depends on what you want to accomplish.

If you read the stickies at the top of the page it will give you a better idea of what is needed for prop selection.
The prop is only one thing that contributes to rpm results.Rpm and speed imparts much more info.Details on the boat as well. A 13 is close to what you might put on a hard to push boat like a pontoon.
