Prop fit question, 115 to 200hp

Will the prop from a johnson 115 fit the shaft of an evinrude 200? My dad has a spare 15X17 I want to try on my boat.<br /><br />Thanks!

Probably not. Generally the shaft sizes are different. Some V4's did have a V6 style gearcase and used V6 type props. If his 115 uses a 15" diameter prop he may have the larger style case.<br /><br />Just try it and see or count the propshaft splines.

He thinks the 115 is a V6 gearcase. The 115 is a year 2002 model and the 200 is a 1997 model. <br /><br />I ran the number on the prop through google and it says "V6 J/E" so I think it'll work. I'll repost tomorrow with an answer. <br /><br />The number is 391200 15x17.<br /><br />Thanks again.

wont fit unless the prop is rehubbed with a 15 spline hub

look at the prop shaft threads. the v6-v8 style cases have a large fine thread. the 2looper,3cyl and v4 have a small coarse thread.<br /> good luck and keep posting

If its a 25" 115 then it should have the V6 style case with the other gear ratio.
