I accidentally damaged my new prop, damn! Is there any rescue for it? It is a SS prop and the leading edges are thinned out, not razor sharp. One blade has a small damage at the edge. I can still use it, but it's probably not good for the transmission and the performance is suffering. Can it be repaired? Help, please.

And it is a Turbo TXP 14x21.

/Mattias

Re: Prop damage

Most any prop can be repaired. If it just the edge that is buggered, it should be no problem. Take it or send it to a prop shop and see what they say. Best not to use it until you have it evaluated by a pro....

Re: Prop damage

Send it ONLY to precision propeller...they are the only one's that have the correct pitch blocks for the TXP...anyone else would ruin it for ya...

Re: Prop damage

Ok, there's a local dock for small boats and I know they repair, and i know they repair Mi Wheel props. Kenny, i bought the prop from Norway, the guy is into boat racing and is a reseller for Precision Propeller, he also thinned the prop. He must have the skills and equipment to fix it, don't you think?

/Mattias

Re: Prop damage

If he has pitch blocks for a TXP, then yes...other-wise it would be a very smart move to send it back to precision.

Re: Prop damage

I post two pictures of the damage, what do you think, does it need to be sent back to the reseller/factory or can it be done by some local repair shop? Only one blade is shown, the damage done on the other two are very small.
Re: Prop damage

Thats a TXP but are you sure it's a 21? It also looks like some blueprinting was done on it. The distributor over there is Red .....(something) I believe. If he did it, I'd send it back to him.

Yeah, i'm sending it back to him, he said it would be no problem fixing it.
I'm pretty sure it's 21" pitch, how can i check it?
I had to unwrap it and check the numbers, it says TX 1475 21R.
