Finally.
This is our good luck year. The wife got promoted to administrator of development at the U of R(ochester),I got promoted at work. Her raise is $10000 and mine is $10000.
Now as cream on the pie,The University of Rochester announced that it will pay full tuition benefits for employee's children. This means that instead of having to save to put our youngest son through college,we are getting his university education for free.
How good can it get???

It doesn't sound like luck or politics had anything to do with it.

Sounds to me like lots of years of hard work and a good education are paying off. Wrap your head around that and maybe you can have a picture of a new car instead of a used one.... :D

Re: promotions

Congrats Rolmops, that is good news indeed. Do I detect a newer, bigger boat soon? If so I'm just down the road if you need a crewman........

Thank you guys for sharing your feelings.
By the way,I am not a republican,I am an idealist.
Hard work, education and devotion finally paid off.
I will keep my 1994 Grand Caravan and my 1964 and 1957 junker boats because I love them.So no new cars and no new boats.
Warsaw. Is that where there is this great trout stream goes through?Or is that Pavillion?

Re: promotions

Actually there are a number of good trout streams around. There is a hatchery at Caledonia which is a bit northeast of us. You are probably refering to Wiscoy Creek which is close by. I fish lakes primarily so haven't done a lot of the streams.

Re: promotions

I fly fish the one that goes from the Caledonia hatchery to Mumford. It is the only troutstream with a walkway for wheelchairs.I went there with a physically impaired friend of mine.To this day,I do not know who felt more satisfied.Him fishing or me seeing his happiness at being able to be a fly fisherman.

Re: promotions

Congrats to you and Mrs Rolmops. Hard work and diligence seldom lets one down. I'm sure that you and the Mrs. spared none of them.

Re: promotions

I didn't realize that there was a walk way for wheel chairs on the stream from the hatchery. Now that is one thing I don't mind my tax dollars going for! How terrific is it that you could take your friend fishing there!

I'll try to refrain from laughing when the child whines "I want to go to ASU!"
