I went to plug in my boat the other day, but it keeps tripping the GFCI, any idea, why this might be happening? I can't recall if I pulled a battery to use in something else and maybe hooked up wrong or if there is a bad spot on some wiring or internally. Where would you start looking? Could it be a bad battery?

Try a different GFCI outlet first.

Do other things pop the GFCI? I would suspect the GFCI before anything else.

It could be GFCI sensitivity to the goings on inside the charger. I have a treadmill that trips a GFCI but has no electrical issues. I suspect in that case as well, the electronics are responsible for the false trigger. My cargo trailer has a deep cycle battery and a smart charger to keep it up to snuff when in the garage. The radio in my car buzzes like crazy on AM stations until I get out of the garage so there are some "noise" issues with these chargers.

Finally got the boat moved to a spot with a different GFI and it tripped as well. Normal battery charger doesn't trip it and it's worked before on these GFCI's.

What now?
