Program Install Problem

I have an AllDATA program I am trying to install on a different computer and keep getting this error message;<br /><br />Setup was unable to install the timerkey driver: failed to start the Aladdin Device Driver. Failed to start in the service control manager database(0X00000426-0X00020007). Install will be terminated.<br /><br />I am currently running this program on another computer. This program does require that a key is installed in the printer port.

What operating system are the 2 computers running?

What version of Alldata do you have?

The old computer that is still the program is running windows 98. The new computer is running W XP.<br /><br />Its the software instalation disk version 4.50 its the last one I got. Its been installed on three other computers, one running W95, two running W98.

"IF" its really old "AND" has some strong DOS roots there may be compabilty problems.<br /><br />XP uses memory in a different way so they made the Program Compatibility Wizard which may not help with a hanging install<br /><br />I have a NON KEY program Cadkey 7 its pure DOS and will not run on XP.<br /><br />WIN ME was the last OS it liked and still required tweaks to run correctly<br /><br />Is there support on there sight ? in my case they had the tweaks needed to get in runnng in the different OS<br /><br />We also still use a bunch of Printer Port LOCK programs for CAD and CAM i have to wonder does the LOCK ask for a driver or show up in the Device manager ?<br /><br /><br />tommays

I'll swap you Mitchel On Demand 5 for All Data it will work on XP.
