Just starting pulling the dive and cant get the dive off. It?s an alph 1 gen1.
How do you break it apart? Pulled the six bolts holding it on and pulled like
Hell. It looks like someone has put a screwdriver in the side of the dive
To break them apart before, is this ok to do or you all have any good tricks

Re: probloms pulling drive

Is it corroded looking?

I would try a dead blow or rubber hammer but that scares me hitting on Aluminum like that.

I am interested myself how it should be done. It is a job I plan to tackle on Wed.

The drive not going together or coming apart seems to be a common problem. I started a thread myself just the other day because my gear case would not go together. Had a great deal of success with the suggestions from this form. I wonder if they have a Frequently Asked Questions section for this problem. I know I would like to read it or all and any threads about this problem.

Re: probloms pulling drive

Searched the forums for a bit about this. Think I read something about it six months Back or so but can?t find it. Looks like some white and a brown sealer on each side of gasket. Ill get a heat gun from work and try to heat up gasket see if that works

You did take the trim rams loose?
Sometimes the drive shaft rusts into the coupler splines.
It wont hurt to very carefully put a pry bar in and tap lightly..
Just keep tugging....:D
