hey ! i have a never ending issue with quickly loosening v belts on my engine. after 2 hours of drive you have to retighten the belts or they will start to slip - especially the raw waterpump belt and the main belt .

am i doing something wrong or is it a thing that i have to live it on a v-belt and non serpentine belt model?

thank you for any hints !

Ayuh,.... Are the pulleys Rusted,..?? If so,... sand 'em, 'n paint 'em...

The Rust is like sandpaper, grindin' away yer belts...

The pulleys, Gotta be Smooth...

thanks bondi - after replacing the manifold , the t-stats and many other things i hoped to screw enough on this engine - but now i will take a closer look on the pulleys- at least the engine runs beyond the belts like a champ with the fresh manifold :)

the pulleys are not fully rusted but also not fully rust free. do you know the 3.0 GS with v belts in particular ? its a pain in the ... to tighten the raw waterpump belt since its secured by two bolts ( one upper one lower) you have to loose and when you tension the pump housing it tends to cant a little and its hard to allign the pulley with the belt position perfectly. the other belts are not a problem regarding this.

thanks !
