problems with tilt trim on BF40A

just replaced failed trim motor on BF40A now motor works but hydraulics don't I lost maybe 1/2 oz of fluid and suspect there is air in the system anyone know best method to bleed air? is the 1/2 oz of fluid critical?

1/2 oz. of fluid is important, but hydraulics should work at least partway with that small of a loss. Are they working at all? Make sure that the manual release screw is turned in all the way.

They best way to bleed is to fill it up and trim it up and down a couple of times, then sit for a few minutes and repeat.

thanks got it working had to pull it apart again drive coupler was damaged, replaced that now it's good to go
