I bought a Lund 1750 last year, and the hinge ontwo out of three seats have broken. The dealer says he has never heard of this problem before. Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: Problems with Lund boat seats

We also bought a new Lund last year, a 1750 Fisherman. Ours came with 3 seats, then a fourth was delivered free later in the summer as part of a promotion.

The boat was out 30 times last year and we didn't experience any problems. Not with the seats, not with anything.

Got it out of storage on May 1st, then on the water for spring commissioning on May 6th. Bow to stern, gunwale to gunwale, it's been a great boat so far (knocking on wood).

The weight of two of my passengers was just a little north of 200 lbs each. If yours are heavier, that might have something to do with the hinges failing. I'm not sure what weight they are supposed to withstand.

Re: Problems with Lund boat seats

I bought a Lund Exlorer last fall. After a week both of my seats broke at the hinges. Extremely hard to open and close. I took them back to the dealership and they gave me a couple out of their showroom boat so I could be a satisfied customer. They called me back to say that Lund did have about 50 seats go out that were faulty. Unfortunately they did not know where they went so they couldn't remove them before they were used. I wonder if you got some of the bad batch? Mine were the white/quicksilver colour.

Now if Lund would set me up with latches and locks that actually worked I would have a 100% boat. Especially when the fish are in it:)

Re: Problems with Lund boat seats

Thanks for the help. My seats were the same color. I saw another post on a different site where the new boat owner has gon through two complete sets of seats, and they were still failing. Lund is going to send me a new set, so we'll see.
