I have been having problems with my 1976 135. i tested the compression and it checks out good. also replaced the coils , CDI , plugs and wires. i have no problem getting it started and running on cylinders 1 and 3. I took off 2 and 4 and it runs the same if not better. so i know it is ignition problem bc carbs are in great shape and just rebuilt, and also has a new fuel pump on it. I tested the ohms on the timing base and i am getting 8.3 i have read that is should be 10-20? if this is the case why am i getting ignition on 1 and 3 and not 2 and 4 when they are both reading 8.3 ohms. and it cant be the stator if i am getting power to the pack to run 1 and 3 right?
Let me know if there is anything i missed and if the information leads me to a new timing base.
