problems in swapping engines

i have 1976 18ft bass boat with a 135hp chrysler outboard,just found out that there is no compression in three cylinders and probley scored cylinder walls,have got a 1972 125hp evienrude v4 that has not been run for a frew years.if motor is good what kind of problems am i looking at in changing motors.it would be comming off a ski boat complete with controls. what about steering, ski boat has cable and bass boat has a solid cable and rod.

The steering should be adaptable. You may need to get one of those transom support tubes for the steering cable. The fuel systems are compatable. The electrics and control cables are likely not compatable. If you have the Johnnyrude controls with a built in key, you can just not use the old Chrysler stuff.

With that being an electric shift model Evinrude you absolutely must use its controls. The steering should be compatible if both motors have a tilt tube.
