uboats ? How about iboats :D

I can connect from my home connection (ihug broadband) but not from my work connection (xtra broadband). I think they have some kind of IP filtering in place at iboats which excludes some internet carriers from NZ and Aussie...

Glad you had a good ANZAC day :)

Or it could be a proprietary problem due to contractual agreements between the carriers. It might depend on who the iboats provider is etc.

If you have a problem connecting to a Uboat, that is probably a good thing, right?
Now, if you have problems getting connecting to iboats, let's get a team on it, quick!!!
We already lost BD Tub Toy, we can't lose another one so soon!

What amazes me, (and it was the guy I employ to look after/service my computer that pointed it out to me) is uboats.com must be loosing a lot of money from peopple who can't get connected to seek product and buy.
About a year ago, I went to my server, Optus, and they couldn't get connected. They reckon there is a block at the other end. I can not get connected 1st time. If often takes 10 or more goes. If i didn't like you lot so much, I would give up.
:p
Cheers
Phillip

Well feelings are mutual Phillip. Glad you haven't! Somewhere, someone must know the answer to this dilemma.

BTW, probably unrelated, but I have to double clik most thread and topic links while here in the UK this trip. Single click and it times out. Never have had to do that anywhere before . . .

Re: Problems connecting with uboats

I am going to be serious here.
Maybe we should relay our problems to the owners of uboats, because if this problem is happening to us, then it is surely happening to the owners paying customers, and that is a big concern to any business operator.
If he is loosing 10% of all enquiries, that probably relates to over 3% of buying customers lost, and we all know buying customers all return for repeat business.
Personally I wouldn't know who to pass this point on to, but as a businessman myself, I would surely like to know when there is a problem right at the start, and not months down the track.
JB, are you in a postion to bring this to the owners attention?
I think it important to do so.
Cheers
Phillip

Phil, I believe that it is only a problem in our corner of the world. We can't/don't buy off iboats.

I seem to recall a few US friends had problems over past year or so Aldo. Dandra-Dee comes to mind, then from the UK is Norsr2 etc. Where is Stan these days? I still wonder if it is not worth raising the issue with the BOSS. Never know. Anyway, let see what happens.
Cheers Mate
Phillip
