Location: New Jersey I've got a 2004 Yamaha 115 carb 2 stroke. The engine runs ok up to about 3800 rpm then as I advance the throttle it starts to drop from 4600 to 3800. then back up again to 4600 then back down. It does this every 2 seconds or so. up and down. It does this at any rpm above 3800. Some times it runs good for the first hour then starts to go bad, sometimes it runs bad for the first hour and then the rest of the day it runs good. Carbs and fuel filter have been cleaned and checked. Any help

Re: Problem with Yamaha 115

check your main harness plug for corrosion.
change your spark plugs and test run the engine on a different fuel tank.

Re: Problem with Yamaha 115

mine was just doing the same thing. odd cuz it never has given me any trouble in the past. i think i might need to change the spark plugs on it. i am going to run the fuel out that tank and then switch over to the other one and try to keep them with as fresh of fuel as i can. man this forum is teaching me alot.
