Hey guys, Recently replaced the tilt/ trim pump and motor on my 1988 125 force. The new motor worked fine for a bit.. but since then has failed. The trim messed up before we replaced the motor and is still messing up but will randomly start working again.. it clicks but the motor does not move... the big motor starts up fine as well as everything else on the boat... why would it randomly stop working and then hours later start working again? is there a poor connection or would a bad battery cause this? thanks and please let me know

When this happened to me it was the connection of the wire at the trim motor. If you have the means, check that there is power coming from the blue and green wires coming from the engine to the motor, especially when your trim won;t engage. If you have power there, but the trim only clicks and doesn't operate, your problem is likely with the motor itself....

sounds like relays to me. if you have new relays then it's going to be a loose wire or corroded connection somewhere. maybe a switch but probably not. If it was a switch you would have said something about wiggling the switch to make it work.
