Hello Folks,
I just picked up a 1998 Sea Doo Speedster to play with this summer while I work on my other boat. It can't be all work and no play. This boat is the 16 ft. version and has the twin 110hp Rotax motors. Now I knew it had a small problem when I bought it so I got it on the cheap. I pulled a compression check on both motor with readings of 145, 150 on the right engine and 150, 150 on the left engine, but no FIRE to any of the plugs on both engines. The guy I got it from said he was at the lake last week and was cruising along when both motors died at the same time. What baffles me is when I got home, the battery was dead, the battery cut off switch was off when I left the from picking it up. I switched out the batteries and both motors fired right up and ran for about 5 minutes and died again. I pulled to spark plugs and turned them over and NO SPARK again. What in the world is going on with this thing.
