Sounds like you are foing to need a new stator or have a good elec shop rebuild it. One side is out and it is running the spark plugs off the charge side leaving nothing left for the battery.

check your fuses. I had same problem with my newly aquired suzuki 75. it could also be recfifier. fuses are under engine cover. do you have a tach/does it work? these engine only put out low amp 6-9 at best. so voltage reading is critical, anything over 12.6 is good when running.12.6 is charged battery voltage

It looks like some one has replaced the stator earlier because the wire colors don't match the rectifyer cover I need a schematic and the values that i should find at the terminals:eek:

Re: problem with charging ciurcut

that 90 will run with no battery as its an altenator driven CDI ign system.
however by dissconecting the battery you can fry the regulator/rectifier.
check stator lighting coil output voltage and then regulator output.
lighting coils and ign charge coils are seperate and isolated.
be careful what advice you read.
