Problem starting

I have a 95 sea doo xp. the battery is good the starter is new. When I push the start button nothing happens, no clicking sound , if I keep pushing the start button, eventually it will start cranking and ultimately start up. It happens when its cold or after its been run for a while. Any idea whats wrong? Your help will be appreciated.

Does it make the chirping noise when you plug in the key? If so probably a bad stop/start switch

it better not make the noise since it doesn't have a dess system//lol.. either your solenoid is bad your start switch is bad or a cable to the starter or ground cable is bad,, that is if the starter is not bad.
