Probelm with my 1998 15 hp Honda

I am getting fluid leaking out of my over flow tube in my 15 hp fourstroke honda outboard while trolling. It appears as if it has some water in the oil as it is murky looking but then after a couple of days not running the oil appears clear again. Doesn't seem to be water in the oil when I drain the oil. If I pull the dip stick out while running oil sprays out the hole. Any idea what could be wrong?

I agree, over fill or the engine is making oil. It only holds 1 U S QT.
Make sure your thermostat is working. If you don't have high enough temperature a lot of unburnt gas pass through the rings into the oil. Higher temps helps but also evaporates the gas.
Invest a $1.00 for a gasket and pull the thermostat and check it. I had a Honda mechanic tell me I should change it about every 2 years but I think that is excessive.
