Probably a dumb question - Fan/Blower Motor for Inflatable?

Does such a thing exist? A high powered fan/blower that's gas powered? That could be mounted at the rear of an inflatable boat and have enough power to push it?

I'm asking because I have property on a river that gets pretty shallow in places. It would be nice not to have to worry about busting the prop on my trolling motor.

I'm not looking for something that will go very fast at all..but just have enough power to put about on the river. Any ideas?

You could install a paragyding motor with supported frames at back transom, if it makes a pachute fly, why can't it make a sib cruise...

At one time there were air boat fans that clamped on a transom like an outboard motor. A search might find where one might purchase one if they are still manufactured. They allowed extremely shallow running for a small boat.

*shrugs* What about using a pole/oar and pushing your way along? Is the bottom hard or soft?

Go on you tube and search for
Redneck Airboat Canoe

the white kayak version is totally lol

but if you really need to crack a smile,
check out what the Russians are doing,
I do not even know what to search on
so here are some links
Аэрокатамаран "СТРИЖ" клип 2(крылья) - YouTube
and this looks like what you may be looking for
Аэроглиссер Лидер-600 - YouTube
and from there on, in the side bar, it is just insane

....................................................................

Have you considered a Thai Long Tail / Mud Motor?

Look on youtube for videos, search for
who needs and air boat

With one of the Honda GX200 Clones
( or that 6.5 HP motor from HFT )
and a mud motor kit from the likes of Mud-Skipper
or Swamp Runner, you could probably put one
( seach for those guys on google, plenty of info out there )
together for just under $500 by the time you
pay for shipping and tax.

And to top that all off, the go-carters have created an incredible
aftermarket for those GX 200 clones. They have all levels of mods
from simply removing the govenor, adding a high flow air cleaner,
and installing a high flow exhaust all the way on up to totally wild
stuff where they are getting over 20 HP out of the GX 200 clones.
Here is a link to a primer of sorts on the topic.

my best to you,
and please share with us
whatever you come up with
that ends up working for you

I was just talking to my wife about using my paramotor on the Achilles. That is my other hobby

Great already having it, if mounting on transom check that doesn't exceed max engine transom weight, probably could build floor frames and mount engine on to it as in posted vid, will rock less than sitting on transom, providing that tubes are top inflated to its max pressure. Would be fun seeing that sib conversioin. Good luck on your inventiveness, just don't fly to Mars...
