Why am I unable to adjust the linkage for the electronic advance module with a clymer service manual? The book says adjust the rod for idle timing and the hard stop screw for wide open throttle however, when the control lever is up at the hard stop the timing arm down, and visa versa. To set timing @ 5atdc the arm must down not up and to set at 25btdc the arm must be up.. just opposite as it says. And the arm is not long enough to adjust for the opposite. Ive rigged it to work as I se it should but after it warms up it really shakes and will not achieve full throttle..any help?
