I was using the primer to push the new oil through the newly rebuild Mercruiser 5.0LX V8. After a couple minutes of priming I got oil coming from the push rods on the port side and the oil was coming fluently when I continued. However there was no oil from the push rods on the starboard side. When I call the mechanic who rebuild the engine, he told me that it is normal since there is no distributor installed and told me to complete assembling the engine, put gaskets and intake manifold.
I would like to make sure that this is how supposed to work before I complete the assembly.
Thx

very common as the right side oil passage runs past the distributor. which is why the high end primers look much like a distributor body

You can also prime it with the crank i 4 positions. zero, 90, 180 & 270 degrees. Supposed to allow the oil to get through the crank etc more easily.
