I have no owners manual for the boat I recently bought so please excuse this dumb question. On the primer solenoid there is a small red lever. Which way do you set it for "normal" running? Does it go all the way clock-wise or all the way couner-clockwise?? Also in checking it out I put a meter on the the electric contacts and got a reading of 4.3 ohms. Is that consistant with a "good" unit?

Re: Primer Solenoid

Normal 'run' position is all the way clockwise, yes. Not sure what the coil would ohm out ,but a push of the keyswitch once it's placed in the 'on' position will produce a 'click' from the unit if it's working.

Re: Primer Solenoid

My manual say's 5.5 ohms +or- 1.5 ohms. So yours is good.
