Primer Solenoid Replacement

Hi folks, need too replace my PS I have found that there are two options. One is the original part #437238, and the other is a replacement part #5007356. Will one be better than the other? The price for the first part is about $10-20 cheaper. When it comes down to it im cheap. Was there a problem and that's why they changed parts. Oh, the reason I need too replace the PS is it does not activate when I press the key. There is power going to the noid but no action. Thank you...

you can get rebuild kits instead of buying a new one. When you say it doesn't activate do you mean that you don't hear an audible click or that it doesn't squirt out fuel??

if it's the first option then check all the connections first and if the latter then open it up and check it out, as the diaphragm may be bust and the rebuild kit will sort that for you ...

other than that I'd replace with the same part number..

fishfeatures, I don't hear an audible click, but when I manually turn I do hear the click and gas is pushed and the motor starts. My "guy "at the shop said it was getting power but not activating. I have already replaced the top gasket and valve and top plate. Thanks Again...

I got a used one off e-b about a year ago for less than 50. and been working good,,,they do charge a lot for them new,,,,keep your old for spare parts... mine would click but very weak...I took it apart several times trying to fix it but had no luck........

Thanks , johnson89 I have been looking at e-b. I don't see many used that will fit my 88 70hp rude. I will keep checking back.
