Hello all,
I have a 1968 chrysler made wards seaking with 35 hp engine.

My engines starts and idles well, but upon acceleration , stalls out.
My question is this. I disconnected line at input of fuel pump and primer pushes fuel.
I next reconnected fuel pump inlet and disconnected at input of carb, primer bulb also pushes fuel thru the pump. Is this normal?

I inspected fuel pump diaphragm and all looks well. I have had a couple of diaphragms blown last couple of years.

Any help would be appreciated,
Chuck

Yeah, it is. If the bulb didn't flow gas through the fuel pump, the float bowl(s) wouldn't fill and the motor won't start. Normal.

Might be worth looking at the carb for blockages and check compression while you're at it.

Thanks, so if the primer never gets hard then the float is likely not closing completely, correct ? I believe that once the float closes , it should get hard. Is that correct ?
