I have another OB question. When i hook the gas hose to the copper line coming from my tank, which is built into the bow, should I leave the primer bulb inline or just go with straight gas line from the copper to the engine with the clip to hook to the engine. If the gas line is always connected is there a need for the primer bulb? Any harm in leaving it in place anyway? Also I was going to put a water separator/ filter inline before the line reaches the motor...will this provide too much resistance to gas flow for the outboard to pull gas thru?

The primer bulb is just a one-way, hand operated pump to prime the fuel system from the tank up to the motor....after motor is started the primer bulb does nothing. The fuel separator/filter is a great addition to your fuel system and will not restrict fuel flow....The Walmart/Atwood unit is fine for about $28 for most applications....bolts to the inside of the transom...

Yeah thats kind of what I thought, so leave the bulb in place. I saved the water separator setup off my old inboard engine and wanted to use that as a backup to whats already in the outboard. Thanks for the reply.
