I recently inherited a 2000 Lund 14WC fishing boat with Yamaha motor and Shorelander trailer and I'm looking for resources on how to price it. A friend suggested I check out this forum. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Pricing for? Insurance purposes? Selling it? Trading it in?

Important point: The paperwork has to be in your name to legally transfer ownership. Whether that's a transferable registration or a separate title is dependent on your registering authority - DMV/BMV/DeptfWildlife/etc **There isn't a day that goes by where someone is "gifted" a boat for "free" with no paperwork and it becomes a "how do I register this" post.

Alot of this is right out the window due to pandemic as people are being silly and driving the market through the roof. Alot is going to depend on condition and location.

Pictures would help once you get a few more posts under your belt...

Thanks for your reply. Pricing for resale. My husband bought it in 2014 -- hoping to fish in retirement and died unexpectedly. I have title in my name now and I don't fish-- so thinking to sell it. It's in Minnesota. and excellent condition. Family helped me get out of the garage this weekend, so just starting to organize a plan.

Sorry to hear about the passing of your husband.

Agree with Brian, pics would be needed at a minimum

Minnesota is coming up on the end of their boating season as the temperature will start plumeting shortly and ice fishing season will be starting. prices will be low compared to the spring where the same boat will command between a 15 and 25% premium over a boat sale in the fall.

websites like boat trader and of course the local craigslist are good sites for determining what a similar package in your neck of the midwest are going for.

You can get a rough idea on CL on similiar boats. Boat Trader is another. It all depends on condition, condition, condition. Is it running? If not it would be worth it to get it to a shop. A boat not running isn't worth much. Also keep in mind that boating season is winding down in the North so they'll be less people looking.
Sorry for your loss.

With today's market [ prices across the board are stupid high ] and guessing the overall condition is well above average I would start on the upper end at 3,000 . NADA has it at 1700 , engine hp will also be a plus or minus depending on what's on it. NADA is just a guide , people do look at it but it isn't the Bible. Buyers will be looking into late fall and there is no reason to bend on your asking price , it's a sellers market. if things stay the same it may increase in value in the spring. Don't get any calls , then drop it 500.00 . Bud just ordered a new Lund , none in stock and that includes other Lund dealers in the state . He may see it in late February or March according to the dealer.
