Price of a 79 mercury 50hp

Anyone have a idea of what a 79 merc 50hp is worth in running condition. So dudes trying to sell me one for $800CAD. Seems a little much to me.<br /><br />No controls no tilt/trim

dburr,<br /><br />Prices will, of course, depend on supply in your area.<br /><br />I personally wouldn't pay more than $350 to $400 for that motor in "average" shape, maybe as high as $450 to $500 if it was "cherry" (all in US dollars).
