Re: Preventing lower unit theft

When I lived in PA I had motion detectors that sounded INSIDE. As stated you can never drop a dude running away. However, if the now dead perp was facing you and threatened you and you felt fear of harm or death,,,,, check the laws of your state, get a cwp, and carry!

Replace the bolts with hex drive bolt heads, once you've torqued them down fill the heads with hot-glue.

If you're feeling arty then you can then use a small brush and paint over the top of them for a nice finish so that when the thief gets down to the bolts, all he finds are round heads with no visible way to undo them.

When it comes time to work on the unit you can easily pick the glue out with a small screwdriver, nail, etc.

Another option is to change to a home alarm system that supports wireless sensors, ie check out the Bosch 'Solution' series of alarms.
