Prestancia Starter Motor

Boat: 1989 Doral Prestancia
Engines: 4.3LX with 4Barrel Carbs

I may need to replace the starter motor on my starboard engine.

Two questions:
1) Does this require the engine to be removed?
2) If I don't remove the engine, can this be a DIY job?

Impossible to say without seeing it. Depends on access and how the boat was designed.
Had to lift the engine on one twin because the starter bolts were only 1/8" above the stringer.

2) If I don't remove the engine, can this be a DIY job?

Many times it can.
