Pressure testing 5.7gsi

The engine is a Penta 5.7GSI,(PBYCCE), 1998. Drive is a DP-S1(1:78). When preparing the drive for storage, a pressure test shows pressure and vacuum is good. But, when I sprayed soapy water on the shift actuator housing, I saw some bubbles. The drive oil was a bit millky and I was wondering if there was water intrusion through the shift actuator seal. I sprayed soapy water in the shaft seals and saw no bubbles. How difficult is it to replace the shift actuator seal.... Thanks....

Did you drain the gear lube before you did the pressure and vacuum tests? If not, the tests were useless.
The shift seal is a common place for leaks. Replace the seal, and retest. Before refilling drive of course.

Yes the gear lube was drained before tests. I have the manual and was unsure whether shimming was necessary after removing the actuator but afater reading an old post of yours, I see shimming is not needed. Looks pretty straight foward. Thank you...
