Pre Purchase Motor Checklist

I am going to look at a 200hp Merc in the morning. It is and old bird 1984, But has been rebuilt with only 15 hours running time.<br /><br />I was interested in what YOU would look for when inspecting.<br /><br />1. Compression, I think about 115 ???<br />2. look for water in lower unit gear lube<br />3. General apperance. i.e leaks, corrosion, dry rot seals and such<br /><br />But how might I check the voltage output ?<br /><br />what might I be on special lookout for, any tell tale signs of something about to go ?<br /><br />Just trying to cover my bases.<br /><br /><br />THANK YOU TO ALL THAT REPLY,<br /><br />Merciless Mike
