Powershift 2 assembly HELP PLEASE

I have a 69 West Wind Tri-Hull with a 70hp Johnson that was just given to me. I got it running, cleaned up, and ready to paint and install new interior. One thing I cant seem to figure out is how to re-assemble the Powershift II controls. There is a spring and ball that needs compressed to put the unit back together. How the hell do you do that??? Any help?? Thanks

If I remenber right you had to have the shift & throttle plate installed in the housing then put the ball and spring in and keep them retained by a plate that went over them held in by a small screw.

Thanks for your reply. I tried compressing the spring/ball, and pushing the unit in place, and that goes together, but once I shift, it jams up. I restored this boat, and this is all I need to get on the water. Driving me nuts. I have new teleflex cables and cable guides in. I might have to take it in to a shop. Hate to do that when building on a budget.

What is the model number of your engine? I would like to look up the parts breakdown of your control box.

Check out boats .net they have directions where every thing goes
