powerlift jackplate motor

my motor on my powerlift jack plate went out can i replace it with a regular trim motor or do i need a manuf. part.

Fishfinder,<br /><br />What kind of Jackplate do you have? Is it hydraulic? I own a Bob’s Jackplate and it’s hydraulic. What happens with mine is the solenoids go bad on it. I have to replace them about every other year or so. I run my boat in saltwater and it just eats those things up. <br /><br />I hope this helps.<br /><br />Dan

i have a hydraulic jackplate. the motor seal broke and got water in it ruining the motor. i heard that you can put a motor and resevoir typically used on a inboard.and run the connections to the cylinder.
