I'm in the process of installing an engine (350 Chevy 400 hp) coupled with a Berkley 12JE jet out drive, in a new (never been cut) Barretta hull. Is there a difference in crank and cam shaft of a car engine campared to a marine type. Also anyone ever taken on this type of task? Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Joseph III,<br /> You are posting your question in the wrong forum(outboards).Anyway, your Chevy 350 is an auto/truck motor. All auto type parts you mentioned will work in your motor with the exception of the steel freeze plugs(if in saltwater),brass should be used instead.Marine parts are generally more durable/better made/resist corrosion and are designed for marine use....
